The group poetry

The Horror House
The room looks like a mess
But I couldn't care less
The t.v is beaming
Throughout the rotting ceiling
A harmless display?
A treat for the eye?
Perhaps, but be aware
For appearances lie
I looked in the draws
And witnessed old rusty saws

The room looked poor
Pieces of the ceiling covers the floor
Pieces of the wall has being tore
The bed is covered
In pieces from the wall

It smells like trash
It also smells like a man that had no shower year after year
It feels like i’m in a monster's lair
I can see a cool t.v but it doesn't work
The roof and floor needs to be clean without a smirk
It looks like a dump area
The bed felt like someone wet the bed
“What happened?”, as I said

I can smell rat poo
I can also see a rotten shoe
I can hear rats running around
I can also hear a awful sound
I can feel something crawling up my arm
As it makes its way  i feel really mun

This room is dirty and also it’s awful and needs more cleaning
The floors are Beaming
and the roof is screaming
It smells like Garbage
so much carnage
need more varnish
So the wooden floors
won’t tarnish
It looks like trash that
has been smashed and clashed
When i walk in the room the room gave way
then i walked away so i could go to the cafe
instead of going the hard way

Immersion assembly

    Immersion assembly

“YES” it's term 4 we had immersion assembly on the first day at school. when I went into the hall and I can see the kid’s and the teacher's. And I saw Mr Burt standing at the front of the hall. I hear the kid’s doing lots of noise. And I can smell fresh air.

When we went to assembly the first item was the fiapoko parrot - this was presented by Mr Burt. Mr Burt one was about a fiapoko parrot. The parrot was being annoying to the kid’s when tried to eat there food. And they try to read the bible but the fiapoko parrot was being annoying.

The 2nd item was team 1 It was very cool - they had a  karaoke and a super neat movie of a zoo visit. The next one was team 2.  team 2 was learning about dinosaurs. And then it was team 3 they were learning about disco dinosaur. They were going to learn how to make there own dinosaurs.

The items were going good and then it was team 4 it was cool it was funny. It had some student in the item. In the item it was Desmond, Adam, Revival and to more student. And then the next item was team 5. They were learning about how to adapt eating with chopstick. A good reason is Miss Hockly she’s American and she had to live in China and she had to adapted how to use chopstick.

The best one was team 5. It was cool because it was funny they had a chopstick eating nodes caleg. The nodes had no flavor and Mr Wiseman was the hosde. And the then the item over and they came out. And they had superhero.

Superman

These are the answers to some questions on our site. It is about how Superman changed. We are learning about adaptation this term, which is why we are doing this. Did you know that Superman used to be a bald telepathic villain bent on taking over the world?

Man of steel...red underwear or blue underwear?
He originally wore red underpants, but it changed to blue, and in the Man Of Steel movie, he had no underpants.
Why did it change?
He changed his underwear colour because it looked sleek, cooler, and it fitted the changing fashion.
Krypton - what is it?
Krypton the planet where Superman comes from.
Why was it important to Superman?
Krypton is important to superman because it is his home planet.
What part did Superman's parents have in his survival?
His parents made the choice to send superman to earth in order for him to survive. They died doing this.
 Original powers?
He could jump one mile, He had super strength and had super speed.
Did he fly in the beginning?
He could not fly in the beginning, he could only jump around a mile.
What changed in term of his super powers?
Instead of jumping he could fly, Superman now has laser eyes. He also has X-ray vision.
Daily planet - his workplace...how does he adapt between his human workplace and being a superhero?
He has glasses when he is in his workplace and when he is a superhero he has no glasses and he has rubble costumes.

Immersion assembly

In term 3 we had an immersion assembly  at Pt. England School.  This term we are learning about Trade and Enterpri$e.  Team 1 is learning about earning money by working around their class to spend at their very own market.  Team 2 is learning about ice cream.  Team 3 is learning about careers and jobs.  Team 4 is learning about emotions and how to use money.  Team 5 is learning how to be financially responsible.

My favourite part of the assembly was when Team 5 was on the stage because Mr. Barks was pretending to be a girl.  He was dressed up as Mrs. Wiseman.  The Good Guys came over to their house and tried to rip them off.  Mr. Wiseman wanted to buy a jacket for his dinner with Mrs. Tele'a.  The Good Guys said that the jacket was $40 and he said he was broke.  They said that it was ok, he could pay later, but he would have to pay $70.  Mrs. Wiseman said that they were ripping them off. Why should they pay an extra $30?  The Wiseman's were being financially responsible!

Pasifika

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!! It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific. This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!

Part of the celebration is the Polyfest! This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages. The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.

Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning? Awesome isn’t it! If you think you are not telented you are telented. Polyfest is when collage people do clutter dance.

The ASB Polyfest is the largest Maori & Pacific Island cultural festival in the world. This year’s festival is 200 groups from 60 schools. The 2014 ASB Polyfest takes place from the 12th – 15th of March at the Manukau Sports Bowl, Te Irirangi Drive, Manukau. It will feature traditional dance and speech, and will bring the pride and passion of Auckland’s Maori and Pacific Island communities to life.
